Ah, a bonfire at the beach. First one of the summer and it was pretty good. We didn't make one of our monster bonfires, just a normal one to roast marshmallows on. I went with Nathan, Charlotte, Kira, and MacPhee, and I'm sure I must have annoyed at least one of them with my cap gun. But that's what bonfires are for—marshmallows, burning stuff, cap guns, pyrotechnics, and more fire.

On the way back home, I started blaring the horn for what could only be described as an extended, annoying period of time. Of course, the one time I do something like that the cops would have to be right around the corner. So my bad luck was essentially transferred to MacPhee and we were pulled over. Thankfully, he didn't get a ticket and it only served as a stiff reminder that he should update his registration and insurance.

It's been almost a month since my last update. Doing web work for 12 hours every work day for a month doesn't make me overly inclined to do more when I come home. But I'm stopping the crazy hours now because I just can't deal with working, sleeping, working, sleeping. You know the routine.

On Sunday I went out for brunch with Ian at The Loyalist and actually didn't eat myself sick. They have the best brunch by far in town and, of course, it's the most expensive. No toast, though.

Yankee Hill graves

After that Charlotte, Nathan, MacPhee and myself piled into his car and went to Yankee Hill Cemetary. They built a bridge over the swampy part into the woods and all of the graves have little information stakes next to them. Someone must have sunk a fair bit of cash into sprucing that place up. Though, I think the little signs kind of take a way from the whole experience.

Going there before felt like entering this place that no one ever goes to or has been in a long time. The graves are so old and the woods were so creepy that it just seems a lot different now that it's being cared for and so accessible.

Oh well. At least they went about it tastefully and I don't have to get my feet soaked to get into the cemetary anymore.

At Thunder Cove

While we were on our outing and since it was such a nice day we also went to Thunder Cove. First time I had been to the beach this year and it was during the day too. Normally I shun the beach during the daylight hours but it wasn't very hot and the UV couldn't have been too high because I didn't feel my scalp searing to my skull.

It was a damn nice day and I'm glad I spent it outdoors (with surprisingly few bugs) instead of inside watching TV and then being depressed today because I wasted my days off.
