Tyler and Melissa invited me over for dinner tonight and we had this really good veggie lasagna and le déssert des désserts! She made two kinds of truffles—mint and butterscotch—and they were sooooooooo good. Plus on top of the truffles we had, we ate some Sara Lee cheesecake bites which are addictive and rich as hell. I even got to take some of the truffles home so I guess I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow.

I went to see Nathan play the first gig of the Sarah Harmer tour tonight. The sound at the Jubilee was pretty sweet and the show was really good. Sarah's stuff can be pretty depressing though but there were a number of her more "up-beat" tunes that I liked.

Tyler, Melissa, Kira, and Josh came over to watch the raw footage from Nathan's video tonight and damn the shots look nice. Film is sooo good. I wish I had the time, knowledge, money, creativity, and skill to shoot something really good for a short film. Hell, I just wish I could finish all of the junk of my lists so that I can get on to something new. Maybe this weekend will be a chance to get some stuff done...

I just got back from my 2-week long BC vacation on Sunday afternoon. By the time I got to sleep that night I was awake for around 29 or 30 hours. I guess I now know I'll never be able to sleep on a plane.

MountainsOn the right, the photo of the mountains is from Greg's balcony on a fine day. The weather was great 90% of the time while I was in Vancouver. Me and Greg got a chance to see Ray Condo and the "Rickets" at the Marine Club last Friday. It was the whole band except for Jimmy Roy and they played a damn good honky tonk set. I even got hit on by a woman named Morag.

The weekend before, Greg endured the almost 5 hour wait with me to meet Bruce Campbell at his book signing at the Ridge Theatre. Finally, at the tail end of the line-up for photos and autographs, we got pictures with him and my book signed. I also managed to tape his whole speech and Q&A too so I got the goods. It was a long wait but it was worth it. Bruce was pretty good about everything too considering he stuck around for such a long time.

LegislatureI stayed with Cory and Lauren for the most part, and then with Greg and Jenn once I returned from a 3 day visit with Bruce and Dave over in Victoria. When I was over there I got to check out all of the little islands during the ferry crossings and wander aimlessly around downtown for an afternoon. It was like a really big and more "fancified" version of Charlottetown's historic district. The legislature buildings were something to look at for sure.

Hung out with Charles quite a bit and we managed to get in a little jam session before I left. His roommate, Sue, introduced me to Theatre Sports and it was damn funny. I got to eat ungodly amounts of good food and sweets, and killed my feet from all the walking I did, even though the busses WERE running this time.

Once I get my photos developed, I'll be posting pics of Bruce Campbell plus maybe some other junk I took while I was away.

It's September already. A bunch of people have left for school. It's the end of the Labour Day weekend. Tomorrow I go back to the office for what looks to be a hellish week of intense must-meet-5-deadlines work. But then next Monday I'm off to B.C. where I will hopefully forget all of my troubles and not think of work until I return from the west coast on the 22nd.

I have to say the past week has been rather productive though. Last weekend we got the camera squad out in full force on two days. Saturday we taped Shawn running as a masked weirdo through both malls in pink panties. Then on Sunday we taped Adam in the gorilla suit streaking across the baseball field during the final game of the PeeWee Nationals, and when the cops showed up to drag him off to the station. Some dandy footage came out of those couple of days of planning.

Today and yesterday, Nathan, Dave, and myself shot some footage for a mini-movie which should be the first in a serial of shorts. It will prove to be either interesting or boring. Time and editing will tell. The basis is good but I just hope we don't bore the audience to death with walking shots, like so many skits before this.

I would love to have this week off to get some more sleep, do some editing, work on my site, and sleep some more. But time in B.C. will do just as well.
