The 25th
Voodoo Dollz
Me with two of the Voodoo Dollz from Big John Bates' opening at the Los Straitjackets show. One of these things doesn't belong here…

The 23rd
Aerosmith sucks.

The 22nd
I got back from my Vancouver vacation last night and even though it was only a week and a half it felt more like 3 weeks. Breaking the daily routine and doing a bunch of different things really makes time pass more slowly, even when you're having fun or gorging on deli food and Pocky.

Besides eating, sleeping, and walking way too much I managed to buy a few nifty trinkets and catch some shows. In the span of 5 days I caught The White Stripes (fun, loud) at the Plaza of Nations, Buck 65 (entertaining, cool stuff) at The Sonar and, last but not least, Los Straitjackets (ohhhhh my!) at Richard's on Richards last Friday.

The LSJ show was honestly the best show I've ever seen and I have never enjoyed watching a band play more than that. They were superb, amazing, fantastic—the drummer was phenomenal! I was 3 feet from them and got some good pics (you can bet they will be posted) and I got one extra special photo too. The opening act was Big John Bates and they had burlesque dancers, the Voodoo Dollz, on stage with them. After their kinky antics and the spinning of their flaming tasseled pasties (of which some fell off), they posed with me for a photo and I swear to effingjebus if that doesn't turn out I'm going to be rather upset.

Other than that, I mostly hung out with Charles, Greg, Jenn, Chad, Cory, Lauren and Tabasco. I managed to finally get to Stanley Park this time and on one of the best days possible weather-wise. I wish I had had a bike because it was unbelievably nice in dem dare woodses.

So after having a fun, relaxing vacation I now have a whole other year ahead of me before I get to take my next one. What fun.

The 8th
One more day of work and then off to Vancouver. I have to get out of the office at my regular time tomorrow or it's going to be really late to be heading to Charlottetown to crash at Kira's and Charlotte's. I worked until 10:30 tonight and still have a ton of work to do before I go. I'll just not answer the phone or reply to email tomorrow…because those are really easy to avoid doing. But no more thoughts of work until I get up tomorrow morning.

I almost wish I had the whole day off so I could go to Charlottetown earlier because I've got a bunch of people to see that I haven't talked to in a while. Now Charlotte and Kira are up there so that just adds to it. But it's fun to hang out even for a little bit. I was there the other night with Sharon and we had pasta and for some reason me and Ryan participated in some girly quiz game from The Babes' Bible. Apparently, I'm the type of girl whose guy falls into the category of the "Innocent Lad." Whatever that means. It actually seems pretty creepy.

The 1st
The caravan left for Charlottetown as a bunch of us helped Charlotte and Kira move. They ended up with a pretty sweet place that I wouldn't mind having as a second home. An old building with lots of space, a balcony, and big rooms and windows. Very good spot indeed.

Then again, I think I'd much rather have the Maros cabin or their neighbour's place in Breadalbane. Secluded, by the woods and a stream, and everything made of wood everywhere. A couple of the nicest cabins I've ever seen. Though Hal's was a bit more than a cabin. Must be nice to have some money to put into a place like that and be able to get away whenever you please.
