Frosty Treat LogoDespite the fact that it was still cold yesterday, I went to Cavendish Beach with Luke, Tracy and Ryan to hang out on the rocks. It was a super nice day and the waves were huge. I just can't wait until it's actually warm enough to go without a jacket. And then we hit the Frosty Treat which was the first visit for me since they opened on April 1st. A Skor Flurry hit the spot and made me realize how much that place rules for ice cream. I have to get some burgers there really soon.

Friday night was Catherine's birthday so a bunch of us hung out at new her apartment and had a little party. Then we went out to the Heritage and ended up playing some air hockey.

Charlotte was here on Saturday as it was her last day on PEI before she headed out west to Vancouver for her job placement at a restaurant out there. Me and Nathan went out to Baltic with her to have another huge dinner with Dave and Liz. I'm getting fat from the massive amounts of eating. She and some friends crashed here and headed out early Sunday for the cross-country drive to Calgary. That is not something I'd enjoy.

Kill Bill Vol. 2Last night I watched Eraserhead on the collector's edition DVD with Tammy and tonight I sat with my kitty watching the collected works of The Brothers Quay. Two nights of very screwed up viewing. I still have no idea what Eraserhead is about and I sure as hell don't know what most of the short films the Bros. made were about either. All I know is that I find them interesting to watch and the interview with David Lynch was just all over the place. It's evident how strange of a man he truly is.

I went to see Kill Bill Vol. 2 on Monday night with Kira, Fiona and Tammy. It was actually a let down after the insanity of Vol. 1. I still enjoyed the movie but it just didn't have the impact of the first one. I guess it got bogged down with stupid things like "dialogue" and "story" instead of being chock full of blood, violence, and overall coolness.

Me, Catherine and Tammy had planned on going to see Big Fish on Saturday in Charlottetown because it was the last weekend it was playing at City Cinema. Why the other theatres didn't get it I'll never know. But, of course, we get there and it's sold out. And by this time (at the late, late hour of 6:30 pm) all of the good coffee places downtown were closed. What the fuck? In our province's capital there is no place after 6pm on a Saturday to get a good coffee. That's ridiculous.

But we hit Value Village and the Noodle House at least before picking up Kira for the ride back home. It was Michelle's birthday and there were a ton of people at the Maros' house. Nick outdid himself again with the food. I had a really good time which is surprising considering the number of people at the party.

I was hoping to have had a nice 4-day weekend but I ended having to work Monday. That would have been nice because it would have made for four 4-day weeks in a row. 4 4 4. But the mildly abbreviated 3-day Easter weekend was good, even though I pretty much just pissed away most of it. I did manage to have a snowball fight with Georgie and go out to Baltic with Charlotte and Nathan to have a huge lamb dinner with Dave and Liz. Sooo much good food and chocolate. And kitties galore.

Damn, I need new clothes.

HellboyI saw Hellboy on Saturday with Ryan but I prepared behorehand that afternoon by finally reading the Seed of Destruction graphic novel that's been sitting on my shelf for years. The comic was great and I think I've found something new to collect since I've given up on Spawn.

The movie was actually pretty good and drew on the comic a decent amount. Ron Perlman was the perfect choice to play Hellboy, he almost even looks like him anyway with the huge jaw and whatnot. He seemed to have him down pat and I didn't even mind the corny lines because I expected it after reading them earlier in the day.

There was some CGI I wasn't too keen on and the backstory seemed to be jammed together too quickly but it was fun to watch in any case. It had the look of being a hybrid X-Men/League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie but was better than the latter. I kind of hope they make another Hellboy movie.

I finally figured out what was causing the filthy dead whore smell in our kitchen. In the breakfast nook or whatever the hell it's called there was always this rank smell that came and went but lately I've been keeping just the light on in there and the smell was funking up the place every time I did it. Turns out it was this plastic shade over the bulb. It's made from plastic from sometime in the 30s, I'm guessing. Must have been heating up and letting off some toxic, cancer-causing gas. Well, no more!
