The 20th
I had to go a doctor's appointment in Charlottetown today so why not make a day of it? Tammy graciously volunteered to drive me up there so we hit a few key spots. The main one was the Formosa Tea House which had this great food that I'm really, really craving now. Dumplings, bamboo sticky rice...mmm. Next time I'll go beyond the snacks and get some sushi too. It's been a while since I've had sushi.

Before that we stopped into Tribes which is this African art, music and instruments store I've never been to before. We ended up talking (well, mostly listening) to this guy named Israel about, among other things, how much potential there is for creative change on the island. It was interesting and unexpected but the Chai latté and a large coffee I drank 30 minuntes beforehand weren't very interested in sticking around for long to chat.

We ended the little trip with a stop in Victoria for the sole purpose of buying expensive hand-made chocolates at the Island Chocolate Factory. I really need to lay off the sweets but how am I supposed to pass up such good chocolate? I'm not supposed to, that's how.

AnchormanI heard from a number of people that Anchorman was actually hilariously funny. So I went to see it with Kira and Tammy tonight and found that the movie was damn funny. It was just so stupid that it was funny. A lot of the humour was just crazy-make-no-sense kind of stuff which is good and Will Ferrell has always been on of my favourites on SNL.

After that we went over to Tyler and Melissa's for their dinner party. There were five courses in an Asian vein. A bunch of great hors-d'oeuvres followed by some carrot ginger soup, salad, the main course which consisted of some really good chicken, rice and veggies, and then dessert. It was this weird shell cup thingie with vanilla ginger ice cream, slices of plums and mini ginger snap cookies. And then we ended it with fortune cookies with personalized fortunes. They really went all out and I'm still ungodly full and I think a little delirious. I can't believe they know how to make such good food and never went to school for it or anything.

The 11th
I guess I had a pretty good weekend now that Monday has officially arrived. On Saturday I went to the Psychic Fair in Charlottetown with Tammy, River, Rhonda and Kira. I had always wanted to see a psychic just to see what it was like but never really got a chance to when I was in Vancouver on vacation in the past. I figured this would be one of my only chances and it turned out to be a pleasant experience.

The psychic I chose was named Carole and she was really nice, bubbly and colourful. She was actually pretty bang on with a lot of her reading, some areas not so much but it was neat to see how the whole thing worked. River unfortunately ended up choosing some guy who basically used his reading to hit on him and be creepy and weird. Rhonda got dinged by some lady for $60 for 15 minutes and her reading was horrible. I felt pretty bad for her considering she was the one who recommended I go to Carole.

Today I went dairy bar hopping with Nathan and Tammy. I ate way too much greasy food and ice cream though. We ended up at Nathan's cottage at Union Corner after he tried unsuccessfully to find a way into his great uncle's currently vacant condemned house just up the road. How Leo lives in that place I don't know.

Spider-Man 2I finally got my high-speed up and running again. Turns out Aliant just decided not to process my move order and if I hadn't called no one would have ever known. At least they fixed it sooner than they told me.

Speaking of moving, that's what I did last Wednesday. Me and Nathan helped his parents' move out of this house and then we moved in. It was a painful and long 14-hour day but at least it went without any problems. The house is much nicer than the last one and there aren't any stupid landlords to deal with. Dealing with those people is a whole other situation.

After spending days just trying to figure out what to do and where to put all of my damn junk I decided it was time to take a break. On Sunday I went to see Spider-Man and it was awesome. I liked it better than the first one. It seemed to have a lot more emotion and a lot more humour too. A few of the comedic scenes sort of took me out of the movie a bit but they were damn funny. It was cheesy, over-the-top, and digital as hell but that's just what is to be expected of Spider-Man and comic book movies. Sam Raimi had some nice signatures scenes and edits too, along with the obligatory Bruce Campbell and Stan Lee cameos.
